Foot Surgery

What was supposed to be an hour and a half surgery took three hours. I was only supposed to be asleep, not under. Well, everything started out just fine. I went to sleep just fine, but then apparantly I started moving around too much, so they put me completely under. To make it all worse, Dr. Jolley found a lot wrong with my foot. There was a bunch of arthritic spurs in my foot, there was a freshly broken bone that he removed, and basically my foot was completely trashed. No wonder it hurt so badly to walk on it. Here is a picture of my xray. It shows that there were two plates put in, instead of the one he was planning on. He said that the rep who brought in the plates took some pictures and if they turned out good, he is going to get me a copy of them.

Here is a pic of the foot after it had been cleaned. There is still some saline solution on it.

Here are a couple pics from before it was cleaned. Pretty nasty!

As anyone who knows me can imagine, I had a hard time looking at my foot. The nurse said I got really green when I was looking at it. Thank goodness she was cleaning it and not me. Also, you can thank mom for the pictures, because I never would have been able to look at my foot long enough to take the picture, lol.

Dr. Jolley said that he remembered that I love shoes and I love my feet looking good in shoes/sandals, so he was mindful of that when he was cutting into my foot. He said that you will barely be able to see the scars and my foot will still look good in sandals. Thank goodness for that! He also said that every time he saw my polished toes, he remembered that I want my feet to look good. I thought that was funny, lol.

I am very thankful that my surgery is over. How I was walking before, I have no clue. At least it is getting better now!

Happy Halloween!

Ok, Kim, here it is!

First of all, I want to say thanks for all the love and birthday wishes from all of you. I had a very fun day, except the little incident with Chance not wanting to go back to his dad's. He was crying hysterically and did not want to leave me. Mom made sure that I didn't spend a moment alone, which I really appreciated. I got the kids for trunk or treating, and that is when Chance didn't want to go back. Oh well. I did manage to get a pic of my boys and Jen's kids.

AJ is Darth Vader. Bryce is The Hulk. Chance is Black Spiderman.

Kylee is Alice in Wonderland. Ben is a Hunter. Brooke is Jasmine.

Flag Football ( a little late, lol)

Ok, everyone, bear with me on this one. I know that I am late in posting about AJ's flag football, but at least I am getting it done, lol. Better late than never. So, AJ was extremely excited to play football. I will have to admit that he wasn't exactly very good at his first game. But, he had never played before, so what could I expect. By the second half, though, he was getting better. By the end of the season, he had many several touchdowns and even more tackles (getting the flag). He really loves football and is definitely looking forward to tackle football. I am happy that he has several more years before that. Until then, I do believe that he will rock flag football!

Getting a flag! He was always so proud of that. Then, he would look over at us and make sure we saw it. He loved getting flags.
AJ doing that thing where he gives them the ball after the one guy says hut. Please, stop laughing already, everyone!
Him running to get a flag.
After his first game. He was so excited for the next game.

So, I learned a lot this year in terms and plays. I have a lot more to learn, though, before he starts tackle football. He is always outside practicing football and always talking about next season. He has plans to play for the BOISE STATE BRONCOS!!!!

Mom's request

Mom said that I should post pics of the pumpkins lit up, so I am. I hope you guys like them. The boys are extremely proud of them. Yesterday, Chance picked up his pumpkin and took it to the neighbor's house several times, to show all of them his pumpkin. If any of you come over, they will probably take you outside to show them off!

Pumpkin Carving

So, much to everyone's suprise, I remember how to post pics and post on my blog!

Well, today we decided to get our pumpkins carved. I would have waited, but I'm afraid I would run out of time. So, we did them today and I hope they will survive till Halloween. Chance was so cute! He would get a handful of guts and then flip them off his hand as fast as he could. I had a book so that I could do fun things on their pumpkins, but AJ insisted on telling me how he wanted it done. Chance and Bryce, though, had fun picking out things for me to carve out. When we were done, we had to put on our beautiful vampire teeth for the pic! It was so much fun!

T-Ball and Whiffle Ball

Well, I went all out this year and made sure to sign AJ and Bryce up for something. Since AJ hasn't broken his leg yet this year, it makes it all easier.

I may be a bit biased, but I do believe that AJ is the best on his team. This is the first time he has ever played T-Ball, but he does a pretty darn good job. He hussles like crazy and is catching on to the sport in record time. He can even throw into the other persons mitt, which dad can attest to since we both saw the awesome play of AJ snagging the ball and throwing it to first, right into her mitt! I am completely impressed by him!

Let's not forget about little Shorty! Bryce is a little younger than AJ, so obviously he is not as advanced as him. However, he loves to play and he loves to be involved with the sport. I personally don't think that this is "his" sport, but we will find out what is and put him in it!

All in all, this will be a very fun season. Feel free to come to any and all of the games. We are there on Monday thru Thursdays.

Divorced doesn't mean it's all good

So, I talked to Jason today. He has informed me that he doesn't want to be alone with me because I can do or say whatever I want. Whatever that means. Does he honestly think that I am going to try something. Look at the size difference. Give me a break. Besides, who is the one that threatened who?

So, he said that the reason he is having a yard sale is because he has no room for all the stuff he has. I don't really care, he acted like I should. The bad thing is that he is selling the boys' stuff they sent over there. What a great daddy. Now, he has decided that he also wants the other ladder on top of the boys' sleeping bags and chairs. He is so selfish. I am so grateful that I came to my senses and left him.

In case you can't tell, I am a little upset about this. He is blackmailing me to get the sleeping bags and chairs. The place for my house payment screwed up and now I have to sign papers again. Well, he said he will sign them only if I give him the ladder, sleeping bags and chairs. I don't want to lose my house, so he is definitely being a jerk! I just hope that the boys figure things out.

Holy Crap

Ok, so it's been a couple days since I posted on here. Sorry bout that, been kind of busy with school, work and sick kids and sick mommy. I have been super busy with school. I only have electives left, except for my captstone. So, I had reviewed the classes I wanted to make sure that there would be no huge research projects in any of them. Holy Crap was I ever wrong. I have two classes with research projects and portfolios due. The third class is rather simple, thank heavens.

I have still found time to squeeze in time for the kids' easter stuff and birthday parties. I try to take the boys to the park every Friday, mainly so I can visit with the other adults there. It has been a blast for all of us. That is something I never would have been allowed to do before. Well, let me clarify. I could go to the park, but I would have to go at a certain time and be back at a certain time. Those times would have made it impossible to see any other adults there, or at least the ones I know. I have definitely had a lot of fun since the seperation.

And I have a little update on my divorce. Jason signed the papers yesterday! Well, some of the things he has agreed to is that if he goes back to work at Ore-Ida, he must pay me 528 a month in child support. If he doesn't, then I just get the disability. But, if he goes back to work then he has to start paying child support to me. Obviously. He also agreed to paying 30% of medical and daycare, but if he goes back to work then he has to pay 50%. He also agreed to me taking Bryce and Chance for tax purposes every year. Of course, he thinks that I am going to let him take two one year and one the next, and back and forth. I said ok to that, but honestly I'm not going to do it. I just didn't want him dragging this out any further and so I said yes. So, it's in the papers that I get two of them every year. Maybe I could be nice, but it just depends on how he treats me. So, it's almost done, for real this time. I can't wait to be an Anderson again!

Things are looking up

Ok, so I have some great news. From the sounds of things, this divorce could possibly be done be the end of the month. Jason wants to hurry and get it over. Apparantly there is someone he wants to date and so he wants to get the divorce over with. I was beginning to think it was going to drag out for months. Costing way more money than I can afford. But, soon it will be over. I will be talking to my lawyer the end of the week and hopefully he will have papers sent to Jason by the middle of the next week. Jason is ready to sign them and get it over with. The judge only signs divorce papers on the second and fourth Thursday's of the month, so it won't be till the fourth Thursday that it would be finalized. I can not wait. I will no longer be Carolyn Fisher. I will be Carolyn Anderson. I know, that sounds so much better, doesn't it? Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news with everyone.

Valentine Cookies

So, the other day we went to Walmart so I could get a key made to give the realtor for the house. Course, we had to walk through the toys, since it's so close and all. Well, I made sure to walk through the clearance and you will never believe the bargain I got. These helmets were usually 27. I got them for 1 each. Yes, I'm not kidding. 1 dollar each. I had to get them. The boys love them! They had to write their names on them.

Well, this pic was supposed to be posted last, but it came in this order. We made Valentine cookies yesterday. The boys had so much fun rolling them out and using the new cookie cutters we got. They all got so messy, but that's ok. Obviously, it was too much fun for Bryce to handle. Right after we got done, he laid down and fell asleep. So cute!

They each had to take a turn rolling out the cookies. I figured that if they screwed up, I could just re-roll them. No harm letting them have a little fun.

Needless to say, we have our V-day cookies done. They are in the freezer until closer to V-day, so we can frost them. Chance had a small issue while rolling out the cookies. He got his foot stuck in the chair. It was so funny. He looked at me and said mommy it hurts. I walked around the counter and sure enough, his foot was stuck in the chair. I took some pics, but this will only let me post 5 pics, don't know why. So, instead of helping him, I take his pic. He even managed a rather strained cheese. It was so funny. But, we got his foot out and he continued making cookies. Nothing stops him!

25 Things about me

First of all, thanks Kim. You think I don't have anything else to do, so you made me think of 25 things about me. I'm too boring. So, I cheated. This is on my facebook as well. Copy and paste, thanks Megan.

1. I hate my job, except for the telling people what to do part.
2. I am in college so I don't have to stay at my job.
3. I am getting a divorce.
4. I am happy about the divorce. I haven't been this happy in 10 years.
5. I have 3 beautiful boys. The oldest is in Kindergarten.
6. I love to cook.
7. I make the best Christmas Candy. I went to Utah one year for Thanksgiving so my grandma could teach me all her tricks for making Christmas Candy.
8. My favorite movie is The American President.
9. My next favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
10. I should be doing my homework right now, but I don't really care about how the brain works, which neurons go where, which pathway does what, etc. How does that really apply to my psychology degree?
11. I am anal about my kitchen. Things need to be in their places.
12. I can't do my homework with a mess around me. Kinda an excuse, maybe.
13. I like watching cartoons in the morning with my kids.
14. I was the lead in two plays in college. Emily in "Our Town" and Winnie the Pooh in, you guessed it, "Winnie the Pooh!"
15. I am afraid of fish. I won't touch them and I won't get in any water that they are in.
16. I am sad that I never had a little girl. I really wanted one.
17. When I grow up, I want to be a child advocate. Or at least work in the social service department.
18. In the evenings I crank up the stereo and me and the boys rock out! They love it!
19. I haven't changed a diaper since Christmas. My baby decided to potty train the next day.
20. Since I kicked my ex out, I have found out just how much my family loves me. They have stuck by my side and I really appreciate that.
21. My middle child was named after my cousin who died in an accident.
22. I would like to go on a real vacation. My ex always planned one and then canceled it.
23. The way I figure it, my divorce will be final about the same time I get my Bachelor's. I only have 3 more quarters, including this one.
24. I fell down the stairs when I was 8 months pregnant with my oldest son and broke my foot. Now, I have to have a surgery to fix it.
25. I am so happy to be able to start a new life for me and my boys, a life with a new job and not with my ex!
26. (This one's just for the blogger) When I'm done with college, I want to get a job away from Fruitland and away from Jason.

I tag... Mom

Day to day fun

Don't die of shock, I have done more than one post every two or three months! It's a miracle. I thought I would give you a peak at my house on a daily basis. So, I had to pull a log out of the fireplace that hadn't completely burnt the night before. Chance was playing around with the log and got a little bit of the charcoal on him. All over his hands, shirt, eye, nose and even his hair. He looked so cute. When I told him to look at his shirt and his hands, he got upset. He hates being dirty. Little bit of soap and a change of shirt and he was just as happy as could be.

Chance likes to play dress up. I think he is the cutest in his backpack (ok, it's really Bryce's backpack) and his hat. He is one cool dude with his fireman outfit on.

When Jaime left that hole in my foot, I had to put a bandaid on it. Chance decided that he would put a bandaid on the hole in his tummy. He even put A and D on it. I thought it was so cute!

Ok, I realize that there are only pics of Chance up, but that is probably because he is the one who gets into the most stuff and looks so cute doing it. The other two get into stuff too, just not as often as Chance. We have been having a great time with the time off, but I can't wait to get back to work and mingle with adults!

New Years Eve

Well, this is the first year in 10 years I didn't have any plans for New Years. We usually would play poker with Jason's family. For fairly obvious reasons, I didn't have plans. So, me and the boys decided to watch a bunch of movies and have a bunch of treats. They aren't old enough to really play many games, but they did enjoy the movies. My night didn't start out all that great. On Sunday, I stepped on a piece of wood and it broke off in my foot. Well, the pain wasn't bad on Sunday. Monday morning it started hurting. Tuesday, I was really feeling the pain. By Wed, I was in a lot of pain. In fact, I even drove around looking for a doctor that was open so that he could get the piece of wood out. Given the fact that it was New Year's Eve, they were all closed early. I figured I would have to deal with the pain until Friday.

Jennifer called me that evening and told me that Jaime would be willing to get it out for me. Well, I was in so much pain that I figured I had better suck it up and see if he could get it out. So, before he got there, I popped a Norco so that it wouldn't hurt so bad. Let me tell you, it's a good thing I took that pill. Jaime dug around in my foot and eventually got it out. Yes, there was a nice hole in my foot. It hurt so bad! By the end of the night, it was already feeling so much better. I was so happy to bring the New Year in without a piece of wood in my foot :)

Thanks Jaime and Happy New Year to all of you.
